Fun and games in Glasgow
29th Jul 2009
This year's British Dental Association (BDA) organised British Dental Conference and Exhibition, to use the full title was held in Glasgow, a beautiful city filled with some of the friendliest people I've ever met. For a few days in June, this was the place to be on the dental calendar, and what a show it was. Trade shows are great fun, there's no denying it. As a member of trade press you meet and get to know most people in the industry, and it's great fun meeting up, talking, covering press launches and generally earning your pay in a way that is often more fun than sitting at your desk. There was plenty to see and do from the trade exhibition, to the comprehensive collection of speakers and fascinating industry updates. The 'extra-value' information Around 2,400 people attended the opening of the British Dental Conference and Exhibition on 4 June 2009 This was marked by the installation of John Drummond, Senior Lecturer and Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Dundee, as the 123rd President of the British Dental Association (BDA). Among the highlights of the event were the extremely wide range of UK and international experts, the superb entrepreneurial advice from Glasgow's 'Curry King' and winner of the Asian Entrepreneur, Charan Gill. Delegates also enjoyed the key-note speech from Susie Sanderson, chair of the BDA's Executive Board. Final thought What did you think of the BDA? Did you enjoy yourself? What di you take away from it? Let me know, get in touch, at my email address: thomas.roberts@fmc.co.uk, or call me on 01923 851756. Until the next time.
