Young's Dental Practice in Snaith, East Yorkshire, has been announced as the Preventive Practice of the Year 2009.

Every year, Preventive Dentistry magazine and www.preventivedentistry.co.uk receive countless entries, and it takes a special sort of practice to shine above the rest.

This year was no exception.

The winning practice had to demonstrate a commitment to preventive dentistry and to offering services above and beyond the ‘norm'.

Young's is a family-run business and has been running for more than 27 years.

The practice employs a highly dedicated and local team, who has stayed with it for many years.

There are currently three dentists with more than 65 years of experience combined – and have been invited to lecture around the country on the evidence-based dentistry they provides.

According to the judges, the practice demonstrated very clearly that their aim is to provide quality dentistry in a sympathetic, comfortable and caring manner with the emphasis on prevention.

We will be featuring a full feature on the practice, complete with photographs and interviews in the March issue of Preventive Dentistry,

• A big thank you to Oral-B. Without their support, this award simply could not happen.
